Packaging | Branding
GIE Femme de Ndangane is a brand developed by graduate students partnering with woman farmers in Senegal, Africa. It utilizes ingredients that the farmers can produce locally to create nutrition bars and yogurt. These aim to reduce imported foods and single use waste, and promote local business. In my class we worked to create branding and packaging for these products that would allow them to be sold in stores, financially supporting the women farmers.

The Packaging
The packaging incorperates imagery of a baobab tree, whose fruit is an essential ingredient in both the bars and the yogurt. Like the logo, the colors and patterns call back to beautiful African dresses. The package design is aimed primarily at children, but also needs to read as appealing and nutritious to adults, who would be purchasing the products. The packaging includes both English and French wording to expand it's audience. I also created a black and white option that could be screen printed on site for further accessability.
